About Dr. Lena Morrish (Dr. M)

I’m Dr. Lena Morrish, and I’m on a mission to change the way children experience maths. As a child of two mathematics professors in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), Russia, I grew up immersed in the world of mathematics. My formal education includes an MA in Engineering from Leningrad and a PhD from Edinburgh University.

With over 30 years of teaching and research experience in the UK, I’ve worked on groundbreaking engineering projects, applying advanced maths to solve complex problems. Throughout my career, I’ve honed a deep understanding of educational psychology — and this is where my true passion lies: helping children unlock their mathematical potential.

Brain to Maths is my unique approach that revolutionises how children learn maths. Combining science-backed methods with a deep understanding of how the brain works, I’ve created a proven system that helps children not only understand maths, but love learning it — turning struggles into strength.

My work is backed by scientific research, industry recognition, and the results of countless children who have broken through the Great Maths Barrier and unlocked their potential.

  • “Lena was a brilliant and accommodating teacher who not only knows her stuff but uses psychology techniques to relax and de-stress you when you have that fear of Maths. I know more now than I did before I met her. A true find.”– Tony from Hitchin, UK
