Lena has worked with my son for 6 years. He used to really get confused and hate maths. Now he is confident and is very able to deal with any academic questions without hesitation. He took the subject at A level which would not have been possible without the solid foundation working with Lena gave him. Lena has robust methodology to give children to use as tools to learn and utilise in their working out and completion of mathematical tasks. Lena will definitely help any child overcome difficulties with maths as a subject and you should seek her out if you or your child require assistance in building this vital lifelong skill.

Dr Lena Morrish is a maths genius. She has a deep appreciation for her subject and how children need to understand the underlying concepts in order to progress happily. My kids love their lessons and are achieving well in school. They don’t realize they are doing things my GCSE Physics students used to find hard – it just makes sense to them and they’re having fun thanks to Dr Lena Morrish’s dedication and attention.
I think it must be rare for someone with such a high level of technical knowledge to be so passionate about helping children. She has an incredible ability to explain complex concepts in a way that is easy to understand. Her methods really are a gift.

Lena was quick at identifying the gaps in my daughter’s learning. My son has been working with his Tutor for about 3 years now and has come on leaps and bounds in his confidence. He is now so calm when discussing maths problems with anyone and his maths grades have improved significantly. He says that she explains things so clearly and breaks it down into understandable chunks so that he finds it easier to remember principles. She took him back to basics and has explained everything so that he understands why you work problems out the way you do not just the method. So his understanding and breaking down the maths problem is so much easier. He really has grown in his belief in himself and I believe her assistance in his maths teachings are a fundamental part of this. I cannot recommend Lena’s assistance highly enough she has in this time made a very big difference to my sons enjoyment of maths as a subject, so much so that he now believes in himself enough to consider taking maths as a “A” level. Lena is an excellent tutor as she helped our son to push him in the right direction which ultimately led to his high score. She simplifies hard to get topics into bite size chunks so that you will understand the topic in greater detail, which allows you to answer the exam questions with ease. As a past GCSE student, my son strongly believes At Home With Maths is the best way to make progress in maths GCSE.

My daughter is a bright student, but always had a “mental block” for maths which caused her considerable anxiety. I contacted Lena to tutor my daughter while she was off school for a period of ill health, and to give her some confidence in (what my daughter considers) her weakest subject ahead of returning to school. Lena has improved my daughter’s confidence in just weeks! My 4 year old son enjoyed his 1st class with Lena greatly. He was impressed with all the new tricks and games and didn`t want to leave. As an adult observer I couldn`t help noticing that Lena presented new mathematical facts to my son and he was able not simply juggle the facts he already knows but to relate and connect them with the new information. I have made a tremendous amount of progress since starting tuition with Lena, even though I did not achieve a grade 9, which is the highest grade you could achieve, I achieved a grade 7 which is very impressive considering I was in a very low set for mathematics in my school. Hi my name is Immy I am 18 years old and I met Dr Lena Morrish in my GCSE year when I was struggling with maths. Through her patience, skills, positive fun approach to maths I regained my confidence, started to enjoy learning again and went on to go from struggling with maths to getting a B! I had just been diagnosed with a range of disabilities from Aspergers, dhd dyspraxia, hyper mobility, face blindness and dyslexia so I was at an all time low and she lifted me up!.She was so inspirational that we invited her in to our Community café run once a month in a deprived area to offer a Maths Matters drop in for younger children. This has been such a success with both the children and families saying how much they valued her help so much so she ran two events of Maths Matters at the Letchworth Festival in 2016 and 2017.
